Each year Hannibal Rotarians live out our motto together, "Service Above Self," by ringing bells for the Salvation Army, assisting at The Central Food Bank's Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, picking up trash for Hannibal Parks & Rec, and much more.
Each year Rotary provides a large gift to support the work of a project in the area. In 2024, The Child Advocacy Center was selected to receive a $10,000 gift to support their work with children in the community.
Our nonprofit organization exists to protect children, heal families and prevent abuse.
The primary goal of The Child Advocacy Center of Northeast MO is to ensure that children disclosing abuse are not further victimized by the intervention systems designed to protect them. Services offered include forensic interviews, children and family advocacy, mental health therapy, and school and community-based prevention education programs.
Organizations and projects in the Hannibal Community are financially supported through the work of Community Action Committee (CAC). Each year around $6,000 are given to various community organizations and programs through mini-grants. An application can be found below to apply for a CAC grant. Following are projects that received financial support through a CAC Grant in 2021-24.
Applications are reviewed by the Community Action Committee quarterly. Deadlines to submit are September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30.
